How To Make Easy Cauliflower Fried Rice!

Getting tired of not being able to have Chinese food to due lifestyle changes in your diet? Well I think this cauliflower fried rice recipe has fixed that for me! It's a simple recipe that you can make any day of the week and twice on Sunday!

Now, I want to make sure that as your reading this post there is essentially only one difference between this recipe and regular fried rice and that is the texture of the cauliflower rice. However, I have found a little trick to getting that slight crispiness to the cauliflower like regular rice. Don't touch it! that's it it's that simple!


2 cups of riced cauliflower fresh or frozen

1/2 onion (chopped)

1 scallion

1 egg (scrambled)

2 garlic cloves

1-2 tsp. of soy sauce or any soy sauce substitute you prefer. This all depends on how much of the soy sauce flavor you like.

3 slices of cubed spam. You could use bacon or ground up sausage. Anything pork related will be fine. I happen to love spam and I think it's an underrated ingredient.

Salt and pepper to taste

1-2 tbsp. of light oil i.e. vegetable oils, grape seed oil etc.

Any chopped vegetables that you want to add. I add broccoli for sure, but you can add peas, carrots, snap peas, asparagus, pineapple. Whatever you like!

Non-stick pan or skillet


Fried rice is cooked in stages because of the high heat and contents you put into it. So, start off with your pork option. Once that is fully cooked take out of the pan and add your oil, don't wipe down your pan or skillet because you want that pork flavor. Next raise the heat to high and add all the onions and vegetables of your choice. Once the veggies have cooked for a few minutes add your cauliflower at this point salt and pepper for flavor. Mix together and try to spread the cauliflower in a thin layer so the oil can crisp it up. Do not add the garlic yet it will burn! Meanwhile, scramble up your egg and get the soy sauce ready. This is where you don't want to constantly stir the veggies. Add some more oil if you see that the pan has dried out.


The veggie mixture should have cooked for a good 5 mins by this time, so give it a good stir and add the garlic. Toss that around until you smell the garlic cooking then add your soy sauce. Mix everything then make a well in the pan for the egg. The egg is your final step! break the egg up to make sure that you get small pieces throughout the rice. Cook to your liking and serve!

For some spice I put Sriracha sauce on top! Other than that, this is my simple delicious cauliflower fried rice go to. I can honestly say that having this recipe as an option really doesn't make me miss regular fried rice at all! BTW, this tastes even better the next day!
